From the Pastor

Most Holy Trinity's Mission says:

We draw all life in love to God through worship, prayer, study and good works.

A.M.D.G. (For The Greater Glory of God)

The incomplete thoughts of Father Ted:

At different times in our lives we face some kind of test. In school, sports, as we look for employment, at work, on our streets, in our parish, and sometimes even in our personal lives or in our families we are tested. How we respond to these tests reveals what kind of people we truly are, ad often determine where we are going in life.

As we begin Lent, we realize that Jesus is tested. After forty days in the desert alone, exhausted, and starving, Jesus faces a full on attack from the evil one. How Jesus responds to these tests shows us exactly what kind of person he is. His response to these tests give Jesus a glimpse of how will live the rest of his life. His commitment to the Father throughout these tests reveals his love, faithfulness, and oneness with the Father.

In these temptations Jesus resists any instant gratification his own needs, he denies any unjustly acquired political power, and he will not misuse the power of God to trick the people he longs to serve.

As we learn from jesus, we can begin to understand that he will be a leader who is truly the servant of all. Jesus will live his life out of great compassion, and he will humble himself to teach his followers what love and service are all about. Jesus will be our King: but in place of a throne, he will give us his greatest gift on a cross.

As we learn from Jesus let us look into our own hearts, our own lives. Let us look at how we are tested, and how we respond. During this holy searson of Lent, let us enter into the desert with Jesus. Let us pray in the silence with him. Let us purify our hearts, minds, intentions, and lives. Let us resond to the tests we face with justice, compassion, and humility. Let us live our lives in fidelity to the Father by loving and serving God, and all of God's children.

Peace and blessings during this Holy Season,

Fr. Ted
